Restaurant Sushi Masato

One of Bangkok’s earliest omakase bars, led by sushi chef Masato Shimizu, who began his international career in early-2000s New York and earned top accolades there, including for the influential restaurant 15 East. After relocating to Thailand, he opened Sushi Masato in 2017; within three years, it achieved comparable acclaim. Notably, following unsuccessful experiments with local ingredients, the kitchen now relies exclusively on Japanese fish and seafood flown weekly from Tokyo’s Toyosu market.
