Bar Coa

A cornerstone of Hong Kong’s modern bar culture and the city’s most important destination for agave spirits. Coa is intimate, welcoming and seemingly bottomless in ambition: more than forty pages of mezcal- and tequila-based drinks, frequent tastings and workshops, weekly menu updates, an in-house shop, and even a dedicated non-profit initiative, Mezcal Mission. Through this project, founder Jay Khan has extended Coa’s influence far beyond the bar itself, recently earning recognition among Hong Kong’s most influential business figures. Equal parts education, advocacy and hospitality, Coa has long since transcended the category of a bar to become a genuine urban institution.
